October is shaping up to be an exciting month at California Online Public Schools (CalOPS)! Socialization is an essential part of any education experience and we always highly encourage students to get involved. Here’s a look at what’s happening this month!
All-School Fall Festivals
Celebrate the season and connect with fellow CalOPS students and families at our regional Fall Festivals:

In addition, the CalOPS Middle School National Junior Honor Society will be hosting Cans of Compassion, a canned food drive during all of the Fall Festival locations. People are encouraged to donate human food, pet food supplies and other non-perishable, unopened food items.
These festivals are the perfect opportunity to meet other students, enjoy seasonal activities, and experience the CalOPS community in person!
High School Highlights
Social Meet Up Mixer – October 24, 2025
High school students can dive into new interests and meet peers at the Social Meet Up Mixer. The event runs for three hours, divided into 30-minute sessions, where students rotate through 2–3 Social Meet Ups. Students will have the chance to explore a variety of fun activities—past sessions included music, games, and presentations from student leaders.
Prom Theme Voting – Now through December 1
High schoolers, it’s your time to vote! Help choose the theme for Prom 2026 (June 6, 2026). Options include:
- Starry Night
- Under the Sea
- Masquerade
- Neon Disco
English Learner Mixer – October 23, 2025
Our English Learner teachers are hosting a special mixer to build community and share helpful tips for English Learner students. Breakout rooms will connect students with representatives from our Professional Learning Communities, fostering collaboration and support across the school.
