The Achieve program offered by California Online Public Schools for elementary gifted and talented students enhances general education by providing advanced learners with opportunities to delve deeper into subjects, explore alternative concepts, and showcase their learning through creative means. Starting from 3rd grade, this program is led by teachers certified in gifted and talented education.
To qualify for the Achieve program, students are assessed using the CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) and need to meet program requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are LiveClasses required?
Students are required to be in contact with their teacher throughout the month. This regular interaction is fulfilled through LiveClass attendance and plays a vital role in student success. Students who consistently attend LiveClass demonstrate higher engagement, stay on track academically, build meaningful relationships with their teachers and peers, and show greater academic growth over time.
How is this program flexible?
Caretakers will find flexibility when it comes to daily asynchronous lessons, which allows students to start their lessons at a time that works best for them, take breaks as needed, choose the order in which they tackle subjects, and learn in the environment that suits them best.
How do students socialize?
We encourage all students to attend their LiveClass sessions to be able to interact with other students and teachers regularly online. We also offer the following opportunities to socialize with fellow students/parents/caretakers:
- Periodic in-person social activities such as field trips, social meet ups (depending on grade level)
- Frequent virtual field trips
- Beginning, middle and end of year festivals in Southern, Central and Northern California
- Parents/Caretakers may also join our private Facebook page
