Building College and Career Readiness

At CalOPS, we believe preparing students for the future means providing opportunities to explore, plan and take meaningful steps toward their goals while still in high school. 

For students interested in pursuing higher education, we offer a range of University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) A-G-approved courses, as well as Honors and Advanced Placement® (AP) courses designed to help students challenge themselves academically and prepare for college-level expectations. Our teachers and counselors work closely with students throughout the college planning process, from selecting courses to navigating college applications. 

Students can also take advantage of our Early College Pathways program through a partnership with Saddleback College. Eligible students in grades 10-12 have the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit simultaneously through dual enrollment courses. These programs allow students to begin working toward an associate degree, earn transferrable college credits, and gain valuable college experience before graduating from high school.

For students in business and entrepreneurship, the New Media Marketing pathway offers coursework in marketing, e-commerce, social media marketing, workplace skills and business fundamentals, leading to a recognized Certificate of Achievement. Students interested in a traditional college pathway can pursue intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) coursework, helping them prepare for transfer to a four-year university. 

In addition, CalOPS offers the AVID program for middle and high school students, which helps them develop the academic habits and skills needed for college success. Through AVID, students strengthen their writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization and reading skills while exploring college and career opportunities, practicing study strategies and building confidence in rigorous coursework. 

Our online learning environment mirrors many of the digital tools and platforms used in higher education, helping students build the independence, self-advocacy and time-management skills they’ll need to thrive after graduation. Whether students plan to attend a university, community college, trade program, or pursue another path, we’re committed to helping them graduate prepared for their next chapter.
